Review of The Cloverfield Paradox (2018) by Glenn W — 05 Feb 2018

While the film itself is actually a decent space yarn with a neat dimensional twist, the main reason I watched it immediately after the Super Bowl was to find out how the monster and aliens in the previous Cloverfield movies made their way to Earth. Unfortunately this supposed tie-in between the movies was never explained. That is, unless we are to believe the Earth in the other dimension had nearby monsters for some reason. And where are the aliens from 10 Cloverfield Lane?! Nope, just the monster I guess.

The fact only a few scenes were added or changed from the original movie in order to tie into the Cloverfield franchise is painfully obvious.
