Review of The Cloverfield Paradox (2018) by G N — 08 Feb 2018
I'm starting to get a very ill feeling in regards to the nations critics. it started with Ghostbusters and it got worse with Last Jedi and this all but confirms it.
As far as i'm concerned critics are not supposed to be playing together. and though this is supposed to be an opinion about the movie I can't help but be disappointed by how the national media is behaving recently. sure they will love anything that is different as having to sit through big budget mess that makes the grade when you yourself couldn't become a hollywood bigshot is enough to make anyone root for the little movies. But this should be right up there alley. it's fresh it's different and it came out of nowhere. and it's free when it looks like it cost more then anything on television. that's a win as far as i'm concerned and it's thrilling with some really intense moments that are very unnatural for a movie of this size. And though it wasn't intended as a true sequel it does service those other movies nicely. And the cast is very likeable. Saying that TLJ is better than this is simply crazy and speaks to the money being tossed at these so called critics who are supposed to stand against the mighty studios.
This may not be a masterpiece but it is a relentless shocker with incredible game. I say see it.
