Review of The Cloverfield Paradox (2018) by Howard B — 01 Mar 2018
What has a lot of promise to begin with turns in to a lot of undeveloped ideas and awful dialogue with plot holes you could walk through. Chris O'Dowd certainly chews the scenery better than anyone else with a lively and interesting performance, but most of the other characters just dance through a series of either predictable or shoe-horned set pieces that all look cheap.
The eventual result being a dull finale and the seeming contradiction of the original film. Best not watched if you liked Cloverfield. It's like watching the Matrix sequels all over again.
