Review of The Cloverfield Paradox (2018) by Leonard N — 01 Mar 2018
Though boasting a moderate budget, decent production, and enough talent to go around - the narrative only seems to appear concrete at the beginning and end of the film. In-between these points the film is lost within subplots and poorly executed terror, often emerging more peculiar than engaging through questionable editing.
Elements of the B-plot on Earth expand in ways entirely irrelevant. Although making bold attempts to engage and entertain, Paradox is crippled by confusion and apathy more than it might be accused of being flat-out generic.
