The history in cloverfiels Paradox is paper thin. and more times than often, the paper is shredded or torn to pieces. Things are happening for no reason what so ever, and that just becomes annoying. There are some cool old school scifi references to Aliens and other classics, but that just isnt enough to keep the movie together.
Only other positive is that is explains why the Kaiju starts roaming our earth.
