It's tempting to say that this is almost like a documentary, as it doesn't have a traditional narrative structure, but it is clearly a finely crafted work, so I hesitate to make that comparison.
It is essentially a snapshot of one French class, over one school year, and the students and teacher in that class. Very interesting, very believable, no villains, no heros. Just like real life is most of the time.
Highly recommended.
