Review of The Class (2008) by Carol S — 02 Mar 2009
Surprisingly absorbing "slice of life" in a French junior high school with a diverse class of students and the teacher that struggles with bringing them to an acceptable level of literacy. Casual yet convincing, this modest film generated a great deal of discussion about the frustrations of being both teach and student in tough areas but also in a place where cultural identity is fragmented.
