Review of The Class (2008) by Patrina H — 02 Mar 2009
The interesting thing about this film is that it has a different sort of take on the whole motivational teachers type of films. Films like "Dead Poet Dociety" etc, where a maverik teacher reaches to the hearts of the rough kids. This film is different in that respect. Teaching is actually shown as a difficult tiring and sometimes impossible job, especialy in a class where all are imigrants and the teacher is white, also the kids are quite clever and sometimes almost supirior to the teacher.
The problem with this film is that it feels more like a documentry then a film, and I am not a big documentry fan, true as a documentry it is better then most I have seen but as a film, as a drama well I wasn't moved enough.
