Review of The Class (2008) by Mira H — 25 Mar 2009
It's incredible how they shot this movie like a documentary but it totally has a storyline. There's so much energy in this movie, very real (and so many) problems that urban school systems have to deal with but there's not enough time to dwell on every single problem or resources to resolve everything in a fair and/or satisfying manner.
The school year ended in quite a lovely manner, but there's a little scene that hits you in the stomach and reminds you that everything is not really okay, that there's still work to be done and that the future is quite uncertain.
But nevertheless, in the very end, everyone needed to take a break from everything and enjoy each other with a little game of soccer before going their separate ways for the summer.
