Review of The Class (2008) by Mariana M — 11 Jul 2009
Brilliant, interesting and funny portrayal of inner city state school life. The classroom dialogue was hilarious and so well written; it really reminded me of my school and made me cringe and laugh equally.
It was refreshing to see that teenagers everywhere make the same jokes and also interesting seeing how the school council addressed behavioural issues. I heard French schools are overly harsh and this movie showed this well.
However English schools seem like the opposite extreme; allowing problems to fester and worsen rather than doing anything about them.
