Review of The Class (2008) by Colleen C — 20 Aug 2009

I didn't realized until just now that François Bégaudeau, the actor who plays the teacher François Marin, wrote the autobiographical novel on which the film is based. That in itself probably contributes to the documentary-like style.

All of the young actors play their diverse roles well. The film is really about the general futility of the public school system--French or otherwise--and the fact that teachers and students all end up exasperated by it.
