Review of The Class (2008) by Ryan L — 12 Nov 2009
An excellent film that takes a different approach to a film about the classroom setting which is simplistic, yet effective and very engaging. Most of the action takes place in the classroom setting and interestingly enough, the movie isn't driven by an inspirational plot or some elaborate evolution of characters.
Instead, the movie is so dynamic because we're given an inside look at a teacher's every day struggle to get through to a class of kids from different backgrounds. This isn't "Dangerous Minds", or "Freedom Writers", as this movie is so much more basic and raw.
.. and for that reason, I think that's also why it works on so many more levels.
