I really couldn't see why this movie was considered so highly. It's a normal school-drama and not of a really "tough class" as well. It kinda reminded me of the school where I grew up and it wasn't as bad.
The "kids" (that looked more like 20yrs old than 14) were really much more "civilized" in class than most kids I'd known.... In any case, a solid movie (so solid in fact that the lack of music does not strike one as odd) with good acting (but I really dislike the "cam at hand" approach to directing).
