Review of The Class (2008) by Mark A — 03 Dec 2010
Almost a documentary rather than a drama, the film depicts a year in the life in the classroom of a Parisian French teacher. The young people who populate the film are actual students and a lot of the dialog was improvised by them during the rehearsals, lending authenticity to the dialog as a consequence.
One wonders how any knowledge is transferred in such a chaotic environment, and is left with a new admiration for those who choose teaching as a profession.
