Review of The Class (2007) by David B — 01 Mar 2009
This is no Mr. Kot-ter and his Sweathogs. A very real look at life in an inner-city (Paris) classroom of racially and ethnically mixed students. Nothing is sugar-coated and characters are portrayed as multi-faceted.
Students are both inquisitive and know-it-alls. And teachers are both altruistic and condescending. There are no heroic educators or stereotypical troublemakers who are just a life-lesson short of redemption.
Just people who, even with the best of intentions, are merely human.
