Review of The Class (2007) by Fabio M — 25 Mar 2009
It's a great credit to how well done this film is, that it had me comparing back to my own middle school experience. it was interesting to see a more realistic depiction of what goes on in school within the classroom rather than amongst the students outside of class dealing with their early teen angst. that said I was a little bummed that I saw this back in canada, rather than when it was playing everywhere in paris (weird, eh)...since it highlighted for me just how different the school systems are in canada in comparison to france...something I would have loved to ask my french friends about more closely.
Cause seriously that kid got expelled from school for that and the teacher didn't reprimanded at all? ok maybe because there was only one middle school in my town, but I remember kids in my middle school who got into lots of more serious fights and said worse things to teachers. and although they did get suspended a lot, and spent a lot of time in the principal's office...who still managed to make it to high school (whether or not they graduated is a different story).
