What a fantastically unique film - well deserving of the Academy Nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. Great use of low budget settings. It could have been set in any multicultural school in the world, but this was Paris. The acting was phenomenal. It was hard to believe this was all staged, rather than seeing it all as it took place in real time. The revelation of students and how their teacher steers the class, his control and subsequent loss of control - every student was someone we knew, someone we hated, someone we wanted to be friends with, someone we were friends with, someone we felt sorry for, someone we wanted to be, and "them" - the teachers!
