Review of The Circus (1928) by Saara T — 16 May 2009
The Circus.
Monday night is comedy night and for all you uncultured guys and gals out there that think silent movies are just something for the hearing impaired, think again because Chaplin flicks are timeless and extremely hilarious. Chaplin understood what it took to make people laugh....he knew what the common man found funny and entertaining and it hasn't change in 90 years. The Tramp finds himself joining a traveling circus to try and impress and win the love of the owners daughter.....Of course he has some competition and run ins with quit a few animals, including a gang of little monkeys that do their best to try and rune his performance on the high wire...the little bastards.
So if you enjoys movies about vegetables with anxieties, look elsewhere...but if you are looking for some greats laughs, and also looking to improve your quality of viewing and entertainment, this is it...
