Review of The Circle (2017) by Kevin A — 27 Apr 2017
This is a formulaic meditation on the potential for having one's world unmasked through social networking. If Mark Zuckerberg were hell bent on world domination, this is a window as to how he'd do that.
Emma Watson's one note acting is a bore and Tom Hanks plays against type as a Steve Jobsian messiah. Given the constant tracking, data mining and ever present somebody is always watching world of today, this film has a real creep factor when the life damaging potential of these one world globalists is considered.
This is a not too subtle reminder that the bigger the government (or corporation), the smaller the citizen. A word to the not so wise, whenever possible hit delete and do NOT join the online discussion group.
