Review of The Circle (2017) by Jim F — 29 Apr 2017
The movie has a stellar cast, but unfortunately the characters are underdeveloped. We get a glimpse into the protagonists character, but Eamon Bailey is practically a ghost...I think if the company and its owners had been fleshed out more, if the director showed us what was really going on behind closed doors, then the ending would have been more compelling.
After all, Emma Watson's character chooses to stay on with the Circle, bringing full transparency to the world despite the trauma she experienced...it would have been better had we seen a glimpse into the illegalities happening in the upper management and hence to see some motivation as to why she stayed on.
It just seemed unfulfilled.
