Review of The Cider House Rules (1999) by Armando B — 30 Sep 2014
A fine cast but , this effort demonstrates how hard it is to adapt a long novel as a feature length movie, even when the original author does the screenplay. Important subplots and characters are deleted.
This story should have been done as a miniseries with all subplots and characters included as a feature lenght film. The plot and timeline are so significantly altered that is no longer the same story.
So for this being a hard novel to put on screen leaving some important plots out, I give "The Cider House Rules" a D.
