Review of The Chumscrubber (2005) by Melanie-Ann D — 28 Dec 2010
I watched "The Chumscrubber" not knowing what to expect, I knew it was about teen suicide and drug use, but had no idea it would be so, well, so brilliant!
Jamie Bell puts in a simply amazing performance as a US Teen caught in a cataclysmic situation. Bye Bye Billy Elliot! He is simply astoundingly good and his accent is perfectly believable. The rest of the young cast are equally excellent, holding their own against old-school stalwarts such as Glenn Close, Ralph Fiennes, Rita Wilson, William Fichtner and Carrie-ann Moss.
All in all, extremely entertaining with strange overtones of Donnie Darko.
