Review of The Chumscrubber (2005) by David S — 16 Jan 2011
I think is a clever movie that has its little quirks, it's smart lines and strong messages on social issues. 'The Chumscrubber' zeros in on the miscommunication that occurs between parents and their teenage children and the issues that come about because of that.
I don't think this is quite as dramatic as 'Brick' due it's large budget. It's clever, but not one that I would rave about. Having a cast of Jamie Bell, Glenn Closer, William Fichtner, Jason Isaacs, John Heard and others should not disappoint and they portrayed their characters beautifully. I especially liked Ray Fiennes role as his strange obsessive-like persona comes through. He has a real gift for playing people that are haunted by some shameful secret.
7/10.
