Review of The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) by Kyle F — 30 May 2010
The Chronicles of Riddick is a science fiction film. It follows the adventures of Richard B. Riddick, as he attempts to elude capture after the events depicted in the 2000 film Pitch Black, and details his meeting with Jack and Imam, his escape from the prison planet Crematoria, and his battle with the Necromonger fleet. It was directed by David Twohy, also the director of Pitch Black, and stars Vin Diesel (also co-producer), Karl Urban and Judi Dench, with Thandie Newton and Colm Feore.
I'am a fan of the Riddick series, but I'am not going praise or dis this film because I liked some parts and some I didn't. Some parts of the story make sense and alot of the story don't. The action was good and the concepts were great, but the story just kinda killed it. What was the point? I understand he must face the conquering alien race and help the planet, and he's kinda of getting revenge for his race and to save his friend, but what was the deal with the ending? Did he become a evil overlord of the conquering army? Or did he stop all the killing and enslaving? I think this character could have been protrayed better and with a better story than this. But Vin Diesel did a great job again and I hope they can bring life back to this series and explain alot of things that happen in this film when they make number 3, can't wait.I Will Watch!!!!!
