Wider universe doesn't mean better. I am okay with the the essence of the story and the setup, but the incoherent dialogues and plot prevents me from getting into this. Despite labeling Riddick as a bad guy against worse dudes, the movie really doesn't show him doing one bad deed. Instead, he makes him one hero closeup after another. Oh, and there are some cool set designs.
The original is better and just watchable. This installment is skippable.
