Is this great literature? No. But the visuals are stunning. In particular, the imagining of an alien culture as not just a bunch of big guys in leather, but with a richness of people: scribes, courtiers, artists, etc.
Fresh in a way that so many "let's crank out the 3D animation" science fiction films are not.
