Not as good as its predecessor "Pitch Black," "Chronicles" has a sort of watered down taste to it. Vin Diesel's character isn't quite as hardcore as he was, and the storyline I feel like could've been a lot more intense.
Nevertheless I loved it still, but this is easily Diesel's best character, and it continually grows on you. There is an unrated version of the film, but there isn't much of a difference. The CGI and action is kickass, and you get to see Riddick be the badass serial killer he truly is.
Overall a good film, and an OK sequel. 4/5 JD.
