Review of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010) by Adam A — 01 Jun 2012
Pretty decent third outing to Narnia. This was my favorite book in Lewis' series, but I don' t think it's the best of the movies. Still, the look of the film is pretty great -- all bright colors and neat monsters. Plus, Simon Pegg as Reepicheep. That alone earns at least upward thumb. The movie was clearly shot digitally instead on film, so its look doesn't quite mesh with the other two in the series. Still, the whole thing looks pretty darn good, especially considering the budget was chopped considerably from that of its predecessor.
Some folks like to bash on this series for its lack of complexity. But taken as adventure films aimed at children, you could do far, far, far worse.
