Review of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008) by Iamkim C — 23 Feb 2011
Pretty cool. Can be epic at times, and the acting is much better this time around. My only problem here is with logic. Yeah, I get it: I shouldn't be worried about logic in a movie like this. But I'm not talking about realism, because if you see this film under the expectation that it's realistic, then you're an idiot.
No, my problem is with basic plot holes. Why did Aslan not show up until the last like 15 minutes or whenever? He says something bullshit like "nothing ever happens the same way twice." Well, first of all, that's definitely not true, and second, WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN?! This is basically never explained, except that the movie sort of says that all of the kids except Lucy didn't believe in Narnia anymore.
Anyone can see that this is a retarded explanation because THEY ARE ALREADY THERE! I can understand being stubborn, but they're fucking walking around in Narnia! How can you not believe in it anymore? Also, while the battles are epic, some stuff during them is stupid, mostly because of Peter's management skills.
..he really is a terrible commander, I don't care what everyone else thinks. I'm not going to spoil it, but there's a lot of fail there, surrounded by a couple of logic errors. Aside from this, it's a pretty cool movie, and it enabled the production of more adaptations of the rest of the series' books, and if they're more like this, that's definitely a good thing.
