A film of two halves really, with plenty of postivies and negtives. As with the first film, the cinematography is amazing, and while it takes great liberties with the original text, it remains entirely faithful to the key theme of the loss and rediscovery of faith.

There are a few good chuckles and Reepicheep is of course awesome. The end of the battle at the castle, when the portcullis comes down and traps the narnians in the courtyard is one of the most heart-breaking moments i've ever seen on film.

However, Edmund doesn't have enough to do - of the four Pevensies, Skandar Keynes is the strongest actor, so it's a pity he was so underused. Conversely, they put too much emphasis on Peter but William Moseley isn't a strong enough actor to carry that - at no point does he succeed in making you believe in him as a king or a warrior.

And the costume designer clearly lost the plot at some point - the costumes worn by the pevensies and caspian in the finally scene are appalling. Overall, a good film and a worthy sequel to 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'.
