Review of The China Syndrome (1979) by Charlie G — 25 Jun 2007
Twenty years before Erin Brockovich, The China Syndrome came out, and alerted the world to the dangers of nuclear power and the threat it can have on society. Fonda and Douglas are a news reporter and cameraman, respectively, who are sent to the plant on a routine story, when a horrible accident occurs that may result in the loss of Southern California.
Fortunately Douglas caught it all on tape... Lemmon, a plant employee, is inlisted for help. What follows is a frantic race against time to reveal the truth to the public about the danger, but will the nuclear plant executives silence these three before the truth is revealed? A good, early performance by Douglas, and Fonda and Lemmon are great as usual.
