Review of The China Syndrome (1979) by Oliver B — 08 Aug 2007
Very dramatic, cinematic and authentic whistle-blow story. An early Douglas role in which he undoubtedly shines, but the real appeal for this in terms of performances has to be Lemmon (AA nominated) doing what he absolutely does best: hysterical and neurotic worry.
This is one of the forgotton Lemmon films that proves he can do drama as well as comedy. He is quite riveting to watch, and the story grips too, thanks to the twin anchor of Douglas and Fonda.
