Review of The China Syndrome (1979) by Stephen M — 12 Jun 2009
I remember seeing this as a kid, and it's ending really bugged me, so much so I had a hard time sleeping. It's portrayal of human injustice by means of corporate cover-up is intense and unnerving.
The direction is to the point and the cast is stellar, especially Jack Lemmon, whose work here is easily some of his most memorable, if not his finest. I saw this again recently, and while I wasn't so shocked this time around, it still packs a wallop.
Goes to show that good films, regardless of age, never depreciate.
