Review of The China Syndrome (1979) by Ben D — 12 Dec 2010
Good if severely dated, and visually horrid thriller trapped in an everyman's late 70's America. The plot follows a mini Chernobyl style saga, with a political twist. Essentially this sees a news team collating data on a nuclear power station which is operating in unstable manner; whilst opposed by the lenghts of which the capitalistic private owners will go to.
Its well acted, reasonably interesting throughout, but doesn't have any action and looks bland and insipid throughout to the extent it could well be a tv movie.
