Review of The Children's Hour (1961) by Katie R — 29 Jul 2007
This is not a favorite of gay-rights activists, largely due to its predictably tragic ending. But I like it because of the frankness (unlike, say, "Suddenly, Last Summer," the homosexuality is quite explicit) and the performances, especially Shirley MacLaine and an aging Fay Bainter. Besides, who wouldn't go gay for Audrey Hepburn?
Veronica Cartwright, the girl who steals the locket, grew up to be Lambert in "Alien" and Cassandra Spender in "The X Files" (along with several other roles).
