My friend recommended this movie to me, so I thought what the heck, let's watch it...and it turned out to be of the most racist movies I've ever seen. The story is about two teachers (Hepburn & MacLaine), who get's accused of being romanticly involved with eachother by student (who actually is one of the TOP-3 uber-bitches ever been in movies). Thus the whole society turns against them and Hepburn's boyfriend (James Garner), for defending them.

It was very annoying to watch, to tell you the truth. The discrimination was quite overwhelming, but those were the times back then. It in that note, this movie covers that fact very well. That and the acting were very good. When I say I was annoyed by it, the most of came from the child actor Karen Balkin , who played the bully-bitch-shedevil & Fay Bainter as her grandmother. The scene where she founds out the "truth" and is shocked to her very core was wonderfully acted. The leads Audrey Hepburn & Shirley MacLaine do their jobs also very nicely. The ending, even though little more shocking than I expected, was acted & shot quite nicely.

So in the end, "Children's Hour" was in fact serious adult movie about who one lie can destory another person life almost completely. Also a fun fact to movie fans: the girl who is being blackmailed is Veronice Cartwright from movies like "Alien".
