Review of The Children of Huang Shi (2008) by Joseph S — 24 Apr 2009
Powerful true story about George A. Hogg, a hero of pacifism, that's truly heartfelt. There are no character development whatsoever in the film which is the down point of the entire film. Great CGI and typical Hollywood explosions.
The way they portrait Japanese is pretty cruel until towards the end and taught us a lesson: Enemies are also men. I like the ending when the survivors gave thanks and side stories of aftermath. A must watch.
We need more of him and to be like him in times of peril.
