Review of The Chase (1994) by Ron D — 18 Jun 2011
Waaaay over-the-top and ridiculous action comedy, "The Chase" has only one apparent goal: be as fast-paced and entertaining as possible. Surprisingly, it largely succeeds, thanks to a game cast (Sheen is well cast, Swanson has never been hotter, and Henry Rollins hits all the right notes as an over-zealous cop) and a script with some subversive wit, unique characters, and plenty of rousing dialog to go along with the big car chase set pieces; though it's all admittedly pretty dumb on the surface.
improbable, impossible and extremely silly, "The Chase" is also undeniably entertaining. Action-comedy fans will not be disappointed.
