Review of The Changeling (1980) by Jason H — 03 Oct 2009
A slow burning, psychological, old fashioned haunted house film which is very effective. George C. Scott is great as always while his real life wife Devere and Melvyn Douglas are also very good. What's missing in a lot of today's haunted house films is the idea that what we don't see is scarier than what we do see.
Exceptions being films like Poltergeist and The Shining. This film is just as good as those without the blood, monsters, etc. Great, creepy film which deserves recognition.
