I'm really into ghost movies and always on the lookout for a classic I haven't seen. Recently I heard about this and got myself all excited, only to be somewhat disappointed. Perhaps it's because I watched it during the day, but it just didn't frighten me.
George C. Scott was fine and the overall idea behind the ghost's motivation worked, but I wasn't particularly interested in the "bad guy" of the movie whom the ghost was ultimately after.
Besides, I'd rather have an evil haunted house, not a house haunted by a sad & lonely little kid's spirit.
