Review of The Changeling (1980) by Ttt C — 20 Dec 2010
The bathtub scene pretty much paralyzed me for a second. It was just C R E E P Y! A classic ghost story, done with a lot of style. Mingled in a great mystery about deceipt and betrayal. George C. Scott's charcater becomes obsessed in his advocacy to the spirit which inhabits his new home, as a result of his own recent loss of his family.
In fact, has been receptive to this ghost and possibly manipulated into owning this structure as a result of that event. It's through this obsession that the audience is taken off gaurd, and given a few nasty scares.
This is, after all, a dead person who refuses to rest as a result of the injustice of his death.
