Review of The Change-Up (2011) by Marta R — 07 Mar 2012
Yes, this is the guy version of Freaky Friday. Yes it is painfully predictable in the formula. Yes, the humor is insanely crude. BUT, I like these kinds of movies. I find satisfaction and enjoyment from these kinds of movies because if it can make me laugh, no matter how pathetic it is, it at least did its job.
Jason Bateman can be a little dull at times but he is the straight man in the chaos and I think he fits the role pretty well. I think I like Bateman better in this then Horrible Bosses. Ryan Reynolds, awesome as always.
I always enjoy your smooth and sarcastic roles. Tis what you do best. I don't really have a lot to say other then this movie, at one or two points, got WAY cruder then I thought and a few parts made me facepalm but for what Change Up is worth, it is worth a watch.
While it may not be the best romantic comedy I have seen, there is effort and that earns a 6/10 from me.
