Review of The Change-Up (2011) by Bob S — 06 Jul 2012
Bateman and Reynolds star in this comedy and deliver some quite funny scenes, especially if you have had kids or work in an office, but the film doesnâ??t exactly add anything new to the body-switching genre.
Most movie fans know that body-switching results in brief moments of gratification, followed by guilt, realization that the grass isnâ??t greener and finally a frantic attempt to switch back in hopes of a happy ending.
Hopefully, I havenâ??t ruined anything, but this film pretty much sticks to the formula. The director (Dobkin) also directed one of my favourite comedies, Wedding Crashers; however, has not lived up to expectations since then.
This was also a disappointment considering the script was penned by the same team that wrote The Hangover.
