Review of The Change-Up (2011) by Ryan A — 03 Mar 2014
The whole body-swap genre is quite overplayed by this point and fallen quite out of favor after being done to death over the last few decades. So Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman pretty much have opposite lives, Ryan is the slacker player and porn actor, Bateman is the successful lawyer.
After a night of drinking, they are pissing in a fountain and wish they each had each other's life, when the wake up, their wish has come true. They bumble about each other's job poorly and realize the grass is always greener on the other side.
When they try to find the fountain again, they find out it has been moved, but it's not in the computer so they can't find it. So thy are stuck and try to do their best in each other's shoes.
A pretty decent movie, not the greatest of the genre, but a pretty dumb but funny movie which has its moments. Doesn't add anything new to the genre though.
