Review of The Caveman's Valentine (2001) by Janet S — 26 Dec 2009
A Sam L Jackson film from a few years ago. The story and script arn't anything special but the character that Jackson plays is really interesting and makes the film quite original. He plays a mentally ill homeless guy who lives in a small cave in central park.
He also happens to be a genius composer who attended Julliard but is plagued by bouts of paranioa and halucinations. A friend of his is murdered outside his cave and he decides to find the killer, both for justice and to try and gain some respect from his estranged daughter who is a cop.
While it isn't an oscar winning performance it is still a cut above and keeps you watching even though the rest of the film is a bit average.
