Review of The Cat's Meow (2001) by Gerard A — 16 Mar 2009
Middle of the road period drama lifted by some good performances (particularly Kirsten Dunst and Edward Hermann). Eddie Izzard is good when he's trying to charm or amuse but isn't convincing when he's trying to be serious.
The whole production seems anchored in the stagy style from which it's adapted. Not terribly memorable or amazing, but worth a watch to see the worlds first table-tennis match at sea and a guy shooting sea gulls.
