Review of The Case for Christ (2017) by Bob P — 05 Apr 2017
Based on a true story and NY Times bestseller of the same name, this movie is not your typical "made for Christians" show. Rather, it shows how a well-respected and well-educated investigative journalist and strong atheist not only reject God but tries everything to disprove Christianity. He did what many have (and still are) done: look for proof that what was said in the Bible was just made up stories and just hype and disillusionment of many people. However, as he consulted archeological, medical, and scientific experts, some of whom were also non-believers, he didn't find what he hoped for. In fact quite the opposite.
This is possibly the only movie that doesn't push the Christian agenda as "you gotta just believe" or "just have faith". It's all about "just give me the hard facts and evidence and let me decide for myself". If you're like what Lee Strobel was like, see the movie and then do as his reporter mentor said to him, "One way or another, you gotta take a leap of faith of either not believing or believing.".
