Review of The Case for Christ (2007) by Barbara C — 09 Apr 2017
Saw The Case For Christ yesterday afternoon. It was well worth the effort to drive to a theater in my general area in order to see it. I'm glad I did! The story was solid, the performances were high quality with no clinkers in the cast, the production values were good.
I appreciated the way the family felt like a real family with real family issues. I also liked how the investigation part included well known names and books that represented the opposing 'case' so we as an audience were given both sides of the question and the often raised doubts and problems people have with Christ.
Of course you can only show so much in approximately two hours, but I felt it was well done and balanced. If I were to be super picky, the only negative I would mention is the color correction choice made.
The film's overall color was washed out instead of normal colors. But the makers of the film may have made a deliberate artistic choice to do that and my objection could be due purely to my personal taste.
I would still recommend people go see this film. It's based on a great true story and is certainly a wonderful conversation starter for believers and non believers alike.
