Review of The Care Bears Movie (1985) by Elizabeth M — 06 May 2011

While I like the Care Bears well enough (at least I remember liking them), this movie really leaves a lot to be desired. It assumes that the viewing audience is filled with idiots. I realize it's a children's movie but come on! It reviews the plot details every five to ten minutes.

And it doesn't have the Care Bear Countdown song from the television series, which, less face it, is the basic reason any of us watched the show in the first place. The animation also seems a little off, even by mid-eighties standards.

And it was downright scary in parts, not like the gentle scary we grew accustomed to with the TV series.
