Review of The Car (1977) by Charles C — 23 Mar 2012
I remember seeing this as a little kid and being somewhat mildly scared. Watching it now takes me back, and it's an enjoyable experience, but the movie itself is just kind of dull. The Car is kind of menacing, but comes off more as obnoxious than frightening.
The acting...well...it was the seventies, that should explain it. Not terrible, but won't win any awards. The logic of a devil needing to possessing a car to kill off a small community in the middle of nowhere is kind of stupid.
Not a terrible movie, but I think it only gets its stars because of the nostalgia-goggles.
